4 Essential Pool Accessories
You’ve already got a beautiful pool, which is not something everyone can say, so kudos to you for that! Believe it or not, though, it takes more than just a pool to complete the ideal pool experience. Everyone wants to achieve a certain vibe with their pool. If you can’t put your finger on exactly what you want or need to achieve your ideal pool vibe, don’t worry. Let us guide you through the mysterious and intriguing world of pool accessories. There are a lot of accessories out there, and there are pretty much two style preferences to choose from when shopping around. You can get practical accessories that enhance the performance of your pool, or you can get flashy accessories that make your friends feel like they’re on the set of a hip-hop music video. We think it’s best to find a balance and invest in a little of both styles. Here are some accessories we think you should try:
Robotic Pool Cleaner
Chances are, you don’t enjoy cleaning your pool monthly and you certainly don’t enjoy paying for professionals to do it for you either. Luckily, you can plop a robotic pool cleaner in your pool and let it do all the work for you. Don’t you love it when a robot can complete an annoying task for you? There’s a wide variety of products on the market, so you can typically spend as little as $350, or as much as $1000 or more. This is an investment that will save you money, time and effort, so we think an automatic pool cleaner should be high on your list of accessories.
Solar Pool Cover
Solar pool covers might not be what you envision as a sexy pool accessory, but believe us, they’re worth the investment. Solar pool covers have a few different functions, but their best feature is that they save you money. Solar covers capture heat and warm your pool so that your pool heater doesn’t have to work as hard. Using a solar pool cover also protects your pool from debris and anything else that could fall in it. Additionally, it keeps your pool water from evaporating, which saves your pumps from having to work harder. You can get a simple one from a home improvement or pool store anywhere from $50 to $100, but high tech covers with more features can be more expensive.
Flashing Lights
Okay, now that we’ve gotten the performance accessories out of the way, we can talk about the cool stuff. What’s more fun than installing some rad lighting in your pool? Install classic fiber optic lighting so you can use your pool in the dark. Why stop there, though? There are many different products that you can use to create your own unique mood. Mounted LED lights are a good place to start, as these fit right into the interior walls of your pool and are efficient at lighting up your space. Lights on the interior of your pool look good and give off an ambient vibe, which is perfect for entertaining. Our favorite types of pool lights are floating and submersible LED lights. Nothing exudes more swagger in your pool than some color-changing floating orbs.
Swimming Machine
As they say, if you don’t grind you don’t shine. You can bring the grind right to your pool with a swimming machine. A swimming machine attaches easily to the side of your pool and pumps out water to create a current you can swim against. You probably have to go to a community or gym pool to get a good swimming workout, unless you like doing laps in awkward circles like a fish trapped in a tiny bowl. With the swimming machine, you don’t have to leave home to get a workout, even if you have a small pool. The convenience of having this feature in your own backyard is valuable, and more importantly, it’s beneficial to your health! It is on the pricier side of pool accessories, but in the long run, you’ll save money and time not having to make a trip to the gym.
These are just some of our favorite features, but there are plenty more accessories out there for you to explore. Owning a pool is a big commitment. It takes a lot of time, money and care, but we believe it’s worth all three. That’s why we do what we do. We constantly fall in love with the pools we work with, and we want you to have a pool you’re in love with. Embrace your pool by customizing it to fit your lifestyle. Remember, having a bunch of different features in your pool is cool and impressive, but they’ll be worthless if you don’t take care of your pool’s health. Remember to check up on your pool’s chemicals frequently to ensure you can make the most out of it.
